{"id":2763,"date":"2010-03-03T12:48:57","date_gmt":"2010-03-03T18:48:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jeffreyleesarchitect.com\/site\/?page_id=2"},"modified":"2019-11-18T16:24:46","modified_gmt":"2019-11-18T16:24:46","slug":"about","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/jeffreyleesarchitect.com\/site\/about\/","title":{"rendered":"About"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Since beginning my practice as a sole proprietor architect in 1984, my focus has been primarily on the rehabilitation of older and historic structures, historic architecture consulting, and residential architecture.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-550 alignright mobilefull\" src=\"https:\/\/jeffreyleesarchitect.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/jeffrey-a-lees-architect.jpg\" alt=\"Jeffrey Lees\" width=\"400\" height=\"458\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I have over thirty years experience in the design, construction, and renovation of a broad variety of building types, including educational, institutional (hospital), religious, commercial, and residential facilities.<\/p>\n<p>Licensed in Maryland since 1982, and North Carolina since 1989, I have also been involved in the design of new construction, as well as numerous additions to existing structures in both states, some including adaptation for accessibility, as well as a variety of repairs.<\/p>\n<p>In 2014, I obtained my license to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and the District of Columbia. This year (2015),\u00a0 I now have acquired licenses in Delaware and Pennsylvania as well, allowing me the opportunity to serve five contiguous states in the greater Mid-Atlantic area.<\/p>\n<p>I am personally involved in all aspects of any project, including architectural programming, space planning, design, production of construction documents, and contract administration. I am also responsible for obtaining and coordinating the input of supporting consultants where necessary, including site\/civil engineers, as well as structural and mechanical engineers.<\/p>\n<p>Since you are working only with me, communication is direct and simplified. I recognize that your input is the key to the success of a project. As architecture must be a collaborative process, I strive to obtain that input as much as possible, tempered with my professional expertise and experience. I recognize that each project is unique to the desires and budget of each client, and the constraints of an existing site and\/or structure.
